Buzzards Bay Backyard Makeover: New Patio & Walkway

This Wareham homeowner had a wide, open corner along the back of the house. It wasn’t being used to its full potential. Tucked near the deck stairs and bulkhead, and bordered by a vinyl fence and a stand of mature pines, the space had plenty of room to work with. It just needed a plan.
The goal was simple. Create a natural connection between the back deck and a brand new outdoor living area. One that felt like a true extension of the home, not an afterthought in the corner of the property.
For this project, we used a Cambridge Ledgestone-style paver in a soft gray tone. It’s framed with a charcoal border. Together, the two-tone look gives the space a clean, modern feel. At the same time, it still blends naturally with the home’s exterior and the surrounding South Shore landscape.
What was once an empty stretch of lawn is now a fully functional outdoor living space. Now, the new patio comfortably fits a full dining set alongside a cozy lounge area. Because of this, the homeowners have room to entertain, relax, or just enjoy some fresh air without ever leaving home.
In addition, the new walkway ties everything together. It makes the transition from deck to patio feel effortless. Already, it’s become a favorite spot for family dinners, quiet mornings, and the occasional visit from the family dog.
