Every backyard holds potential. For this South Shore homeowner, that potential was a blank slate of lawn waiting to become something far more purposeful. Egan Landscape Group transformed the space into a true four-season outdoor retreat, one built not just for warm summer days by the pool, but for the full range of what New England living demands. The result is a cohesive, thoughtfully designed outdoor environment that the homeowner can enjoy year-round, no matter what the weather brings.
The centerpiece of this project is a pool patio designed with versatility in mind. The pool itself doubles as a hot tub in the colder months, giving the homeowner a reason to step outside and enjoy the backyard well past Labor Day. Surrounding the pool, we installed heated pavers that eliminate the need to shovel a path on winter mornings. Whether it is July or January, the path to the water is always clear and comfortable underfoot.
Beyond the pool, the patio extends into a dedicated outdoor living area designed for relaxation and entertaining. This extended hardscape gives the homeowner generous room to gather, unwind, and make full use of the space throughout the warmer months. The layout encourages the natural flow between lounging, dining, and the water, which is exactly what a well-designed outdoor living space should do.
To finish the space and bring the full landscape together, our team installed fresh sod throughout the surrounding lawn area. The homeowner has done a beautiful job maintaining it, and the healthy, lush grass is a testament to the care that went into both the installation and upkeep. Along the perimeter of the pool fence, we planted a privacy screen, providing a natural buffer that adds seclusion, softens the hardscape, and frames the entire retreat in a way that feels intentional and polished.
